“My Mother’s Kitchen: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner and the Meaning of Life”—Sunday, Feb. 25, 1:00 p.m.

by Peter Gethers

Gether’s mother, the daughter of the owner of Ratners, a famous Jewish dairy restaurant, is aging. Her son’s journey to make her one last feast involves learning how to cook. This is a funny, moving memoir about a son’s discovery that his mother has a genius for understanding the intimate connections between cooking, people and love.

This will be a culinary adventure for Beth El as we combine the author’s visit with a delicious “Ratner’s” style meal.
